LTGs

Want to grow closer to Christ?

Have 1 hour a week to meet with someone?

Willing to be real & open with a few trusted people?

Ready to read the Bible?

That's what people do in Life Transformation Groups.

Here are some basics to get you started:

• LTGs meet once a week for approximately 1 hour.

• There are 1 to 5 others in the group.

• Men meet with men and women with women.

• During the week, you read 7-35 chapters of the Bible.

• There is no curriculum, workbook, etc.

• No one is the leader of the group.

The LTG is simple, yet powerful. It incorporates the values of community, internal life transformation, and reproduction of disciples.

Key Elements of an LTG

A Steady Diet of Scripture

• The suggested weekly Scripture reading is between 7-35 chapters.

• When the agreed upon reading is not completed by all members of the LTG, the passages are re-read by the entire group for the next week.

• Re-reading is not a negative; it helps in understanding and applying the truth of God's Word to one's life.

Journaling the Scriptures

• Respond to one verse of Scripture encountered during the required reading at least 3 times a week.

• Use the acronym S-O-A-P:

S - Write down the verse of SCRIPTURE that speaks to your heart.

O - Write down a brief OBSERVATION about the verse you have chosen.

A - Write down how this verse APPLIES to your specific life situation.

P - Write down a PRAYER concerning your application of the verse.

The Confession of Sin and Prayer

• Read through the LTG Questions and respond appropriately.

• Confess your sins to one another and pray for each other.

• Pray with each other for the non-believers God has placed on your heart.

Relational Development & Spiritual Growth

• Share the important things God is doing in your life.

• Share personal testimonies of God's workings in and through you the past week.

• Minister to each other through the Holy Spirit (edification, exhortation & comfort.)
