Core Groups are essential for life here at Parkside. We believe that God is all about relationships--relationships that are both vertical and horizontal. What do we mean by vertical? That is the relationship that you have with God, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus. Horizontal relationships are the ones you have with everyone else. We believe that God intended us to have powerful and meaningful relationships with Him and with our neighbors. Core Groups at Parkside are one of the ways we go about plugging people into meaning relationships. If you are new to Parkside, we strongly encourage you to get into a Core Group.
Why do we call them Core Groups? It is our desire that the connections and relationships you build in these groups are so meaningful that those people become your core group of support. Our dream is that you would not just do a Bible Study together, but that what starts as a Bible Study, would grow to the place of deep friendship. We would love for the connections to be so strong that you are able to extend "refrigerator rights" to each other. Refrigerator rights are given to people that can come into your home and open your refrigerator and help themselves to whatever they can find. Our hope is that one or two, or maybe even your whole group of members would grow that close; yet that takes time and life experience together. That is why we ask our Core Groups to be active in serving as well as in meeting. If you are looking to get plugged in and are willing to put some time into developing some meaningful relationships, then get into a Core Group!
Don't know how to get into a core group? Well, it's easy! Just send us an e-mail with your contact information and someone from the church office will get in touch with you. They'll give you a place and a time and they will contact the leaders and also give you their contact numbers. We want to take the confusion out of getting plugged in.
